Langdon Bay Fishing Report

Langdon Bay yesterday was completely or nearly completely green. It seems more green than in past years and that coincides with its low level that has risen a bit lately. What is also interesting is the lower weed growth this year. During a survey of the lake, numerous carp were seen doing whatever it is they do. A small crappie was caught near the southeast corner on corn, and last week a 3 1/2 pound carp was caught in the boat launch area on corn. The bay has been cut off from Lost Lake for the last couple of months as the creek has been dry. Many of the boats on Langdon Bay are non-motorized and there are a few with electric motors. On a typical Summer day, there is only one boat moving on the bay. The boat launch is a bit more usable with the water level coming back. If you're going to use it, wade out first to check for potholes, muck and its gradient.
