City Manager Kandis Hanson responds this week in a letter to the editor that reads in part: "The system is a looped system which avoids dead end lines where mineral particles accumulate." She was addressing the concerns of some Langdon Heights residents have about their water quality. I don't know if it's true that some Mound residents are still hooked up to dead end water mains, but if they are, that could be a problem.

In Hanson's reply, I don't know how to interpret her use of the word, "avoids"? I think I'll be looking for clarification of that. If Mound has no dead end lines, that's not the issue, but the people of Langdon Heights wrote in the August 4th Laker that, "Some of us live on a water line dead-end..."

There are two cul de sacs on the northside of the neighborhood, and those might have dead-end water mains.  I am still hoping for some contributions and information on this subject at the Westonka Wiki - the wiki you can edit right now. (Once there, look under "Mound".)
