From the Lakeshore Weekly News: "They take osprey chicks from the nest and walk away unscathed. Talons? Swooping, screeching parents? No problem. But with more than 50 nests to get to, two employees of Three Rivers Park District have lots to handle in July as they work to put tracking bands on the legs of young osprey."  Ospreys

As the story says, the area around Carver Park, south of Highway 7 has a large  amount of the birds. This picture I took is one of the nesting pair at the WRA Park in Minnetrista. The nest is a bit south of the main building.

Wednesday I saw one of the adults bringing home a fish for the young. Our eagles seem to like Lake Saunders. One of these days, we will see about having a name the Ospreys contest.
