From the West Metro Blog about Most Of Us Need Drugs: ""It's true, that used to be said about Mound, in jest, more than anything, I think, probably because Mound was somewhat of a "city left behind" before our redevelopment efforts and the growing diversity of our population. Interestingly, Mound has been the home and/or hide-out for a great number of "colorful" personalities over the years. One was Al Capone, who used to hide out here, Mound being the end of the line for the train and the street car boats. His former house can be seen on Island View Drive, or so the story goes..." Maybe the point of the Acronym is that we are crazy? The City Manager brings up an interesting point here. I'd say we are the most affordable city on the Lake. I'd guess that will remain true in the coming years while the cost of living here will increase as we become more like Wayzata and Excelsior.

That's certainly an interesting story about Capone.
