Langdon Bay, Mound, Minnesota, is now 100 percent frozen over. I am not a weatherman, but I think the ice is here to stay. I noticed Cook's Bay is still open though.

I have received some on and off blog comments about the last 5 or 10 minutes of the October 24th Mound City  Council meeting. You can watch all the past years meetings at:  LMCC  the Lake Minnetonka Communications Commission.

My opinion on this is that if you are so concerned about your fiduciary responsibility towards the City of Mound and liabilities that may occur concerning Council actions that what was displayed at the end of that meeting could be looked at as campaign violations. Using the Council meeting as a way to self promote your political agenda or to promote others who may be running for office and using a public forum to do so is at best unethical. Here we witnessed a Council Member using his seat and public air time to promote not only himself but his political partners. Maybe we should have the City Attorney look into whether or not that was legal to do so.
This is exactly the sort of unethical behavior that needs to stop. These individuals need to be held accountable for their actions if they are so concerned about liabilities that may occur while sitting as a Council Member. Or is it that they are above the law?

I witnessed the outbursts that occurred on 10-24-06 prior to the close of business at the council meeting. Needless to say it was embarrassing to see this type of unprofessional behavior. Mayor Meisel attempted to preclude the vexated inquiry initiated by Mr. Osmek. This was not the forum , nor the time for this type of question and/or fair to ask/or discuss as the sole function of the city council is to take care of business for the city and it's citizens. Furthermore, the method of inquiry was out of line and demonstrated an unprofessional behavior and "Staged" for the camera.

I like many citizens was incensed by the behavior of our "duly elected" council members who are supposed to represent the people of our city. It will be interesting if nothing else to see the "political" maneuvering and secret agendas of the new council, as they proceed, and to see how they "get down to business and let the past be the past".
